La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Univ Area Chapel Hill

I've stayed at several La Quinta's - this one did not disappoint! The room was comfortable and spacious. Everything was in order - cleanliness, plenty of towels, soaps, etc. So far, every La Quinta we've stayed in has the double doors for the bathroom which is fun. The breakfast was your standard fare - but you should be able to find something that pleases everyone. Eggs, toast, cereal, etc.

Stay at many LaQuinta Inn and almost everyone i would usually run into some issues but guess what NOT THIS ONE ! from the moment I pulled up the place looked new and well maintained went in front doors Beautiful front lobby brand new rugs nothing but fresh air smell, the lady at front desk very professional walk down hallway to first floor rug again brand new fresh smelling carpet no musty smell at all so we opened up the room door and was so pleased hard wood floor looked brand new, nice size ac worked perfectly bathroom was so clean and well stocked with all products for shower water pressure from shower great plenty of hot water i could go on and on but bottom line best EVER! La Quinta I have ever stayed at i will be back so if your in Chapel Hill area book this HOTEL

Love the laminate flooring rather than carpet. A couple maintenance looking items like dings in the furniture and small tears in the curtains but a comfortable bed and overall a nice stay. Would go again. Both front desk overseers seemed nice and helpful. Thank you!

We were in the area for a college basketball game. La Quinta was convenient to the venue. The rooms were nice and well equipped, staff was helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was delicious! We’ll be back to this location and will stay in other locations around the country.

A legitimately nice hotel. Right off the interstate, and about a 12 minute Uber ride to the heart of Durham, this La Quinta has clean, spacious rooms, with all the amenities you need for a stay. The staff is very kind and you can tell the people there care about the property. Breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, but there was a nice variety of options and for a continental breakfast, it hit the spot. Overall, I will absolutely stay here again when making a trip to Durham.

If you want a no frills gets the job done hotel with safe location this is close to UNC this is it. I travel for work and stay at Marriott and Hilton properties routinely….I genuinely put this up with any of their mid tier level hotels. I only rates the room 4 stars because there’s a slight rust ring left around the drain plug in my shower but beyond that this hotel is a solid fastball down the middle that gets the job done. I had the breakfast too and it was comparable to most other free hotel breakfasts although not quite as many options. If you’re looking for a good value hotel in the Chapel Hill/Durham (to a lesser extent) area this is a solid choice.

Nothing physically wrong with the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and I had a great sleep on a comfortable mattress. Pretty decent sized flat screen, but the only remote available was one that came with the tv, so selection of channels or services on the television were next to impossible. If you're going to provide cable service, perhaps you should include a cable remote. Breakfast was the usual tasteless Fair although there's a waffle maker and biscuits and gravy both of which were pretty tasty. Overall perfectly acceptable stay. I'd say the outstanding features were comfortable room with a comfortable bed and friendly helpful staff, at least a few of whom spoke enough English that we could communicate. The fellow at the front desk was lovely. And a discounted rate found on booking.com made the room reasonable rather than laughably expensive. The addition fees, such as fees for bringing a pet, or late or early checkout, are insulting and absurd. Also, the indoor pool across a small and attractive courtyard was unaccountably "closed- seasonal". It's 65° out this morning. Not quite sure what's going on there. But whatever.

I had an excellent experience staying at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Univ Area Chapel Hill. For nearly a year, I commuted weekly for work and stayed at this location one night each week. Over the course of those many stays, I can honestly say I never once encountered a room that was dirty, poorly maintained, or uncomfortable. Each time I checked in, my room was consistently clean, fresh, and well-prepared. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were spotless, and the overall environment felt safe and welcoming. As someone traveling alone for work, that level of consistency and comfort meant a lot. What truly stands out, though, is the staff. The team here is amazing — always friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. Whether it was a smooth check-in after a long commute or assistance with a quick request, they were accommodating and kind every single time. Their customer service made my weekly travel routine much easier and more pleasant. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to commuters, business travelers, or anyone visiting the Durham/Chapel Hill area. If you’re looking for a clean, reliable, and welcoming place to stay with outstanding staff, this is a great choice. Highly recommend!
